An office building by the architect of the ‹Casa de la Lluvia› in Santander
With texts by Daniel Wentzlaff, Felix Wettstein and Ulrike Jehle-Schulte Strathaus
Juan Navarro Baldeweg is regarded as one of the world’s most interesting representatives of today’s architecture avant-garde. In the mid-1970s Baldeweg began to focus on light, space and gravitation, making the insights gained the cornerstones of his architectural word. He is also a multifaceted artist: alongside his architectural work, Baldeweg has repeatedly turned to painting.
His office building on the Novartis Campus is characterised by, among other things, a sophisticated relief-like installation in the stairwell.
Juan Navarro Baldeweg has received numerous international awards, including the 1998 Tessenow Medal and the 2008 Medalla de Oro de la Arquitectura.
