The sixth new laboratory building on the Novartis Campus
Volume 13 in the large series of monographs
Álvaro Siza is one of the most important architects in Europe today. This publication on his laboratory for the Novartis Campus is the thirteenth volume in the series of monographs on this new ensemble of modern architecture in Basel. Siza's laboratory is prominently located close to the banks of the Rhine and the former harbour. The facade has been covered with a second skin made of glass, which gives the building a multilayered radiance. The various installations on the ceilings inside, instead of being concealed, have been left visibly exposed, thus ensuring that they can be used with the greatest possible flexibility.
Including a text by Ákos Moravánszky, an introduction by Ulrike Jehle-Schulte Strathaus and photographs by Johannes Marburg.
